Set Up Custom Fields

With custom fields, you can track any vital information related to your operations that isn't a standard part of DoorLoop.

Overview

DoorLoop already tracks a lot of information related to your property management business; however, if you need to track more data in the software, you can by adding Custom Fields. By adding these custom fields, you can easily track any information vital to your operations that doesn’t already have its own place in DoorLoop.

Note: Custom fields are only available on Pro and Premium accounts. Consider upgrading if you need access to this feature.

The Steps

Set Up Custom Fields

  1. To set up your custom fields, click Settings on the main menu and then click Custom Fields.

  2. On the Custom Fields page, click the Add Custom Field button at the top right corner.

  3. On the Add Custom Field window, you will need to enter the following:

    • Field Name - Enter a name for your new custom field

    • Related To - What is this field related to?

      • Property

      • Unit

      • Prospect

      • Tenant

    • Field Type - Field type can be the following:

      • Text Field

      • Number Field

      • Date Field

      • Yes / No Field

      • Dropdown Select Field

      • Percentage Field

      • Currency Amount Field

  4. Click Save Field when you have entered all the information needed.


View Custom Fields Information

Custom fields can only be related to a Property, Unit, Prospect, or Tenant. That means that you can only view custom fields from these objects. These will be presented as a Custom Fields section on the Overview page. For example, on the Tenant Overview page, it will look like this:

Filter by Custom Fields

You can also filter by custom fields when viewing the Property, Unit, Prospect, or Tenant pages. For example, on the Unit page, simply click the Filter button, and then you can filter the list of units using one or a combination of several of your custom fields.
