Overview
Send lease agreements, notices, and more through DoorLoop with Dropbox Sign. Signed documents land automatically in the Signature Requests tab. These steps are for creating general electronic signature requests, done through Files & Agreements > Signature Requests.

Note: Signature requests can be created in several places. They can be created when you're creating a new lease (for leases that start on a future date) or when creating a lease renewal contract. Click the links below if you need specific instructions for these processes:
The Steps
Step 1 - Begin the signature request wizard
To begin the signature request process, click Files & Agreements > Signature Requests on the main menu.
Then click the New Signature Request button on the Signature Requests page.
Step 2 - Related Records - Choose what the request is related to
First, choose the type of agreement that needs a digital signature. You can choose between these options:
Lease Agreement - New Lease or Lease Renewal
Other - Entire Property or Specific Unit
Depending on which one you choose, you'll need to select the lease, property, or unit the signature request is related to.
Click Next to continue.
Step 3 - Documents - Select an Agreement Template
Your next step is to choose a template to use. If you have signature templates set up, choose the template you want to use, or click Create Custom Agreement to build one from scratch. If you select a template, move to Step 5.
Tip: Hover over a template and click Preview to see what the first page looks like.
Step 4 - Add Files
Selecting Create Custom Agreement puts you into the Add Files step. Upload your agreement files, which can include agreements, addendums, or other related files that you need signed. You can either drag the file(s) to this page or use the Click Here link to upload. (Files must be in PDF or Word format, up to 50MB in size.)
Click Back if would rather select a Template that you already made.
Tip: If you need a sample template, you can click "View Agreement Samples" to visit our forms section to download a suitable form to use.
Step 5 - Add Signers
To begin adding signers, click the Add Signer Role button to choose what category of person you want to sign the document (Tenant, Prospect, Vendor, Owner, or User).
Then after, enter their email address if they don't already have one.
Repeat for each signer.
Use Customize Order of Signers toggle if you want signers to sign in a specific sequence — this requires the first signer to sign before the next one is notified. Turn this off if signing order doesn't matter.
Click Next to continue.
Note: To include a cosigner, add them to the lease as a tenant or prospect when you create the lease or draft lease — even if they won't be living at the property. This lets you add them as a signer. See Create an Electronic Signature Template for more on setting up signers.
Note: If you added any additional files or signer roles, you'll have the option to save your changes as a copy (Save as Copy) or update the template to include them (Update Template).
Step 6 - Request Details - Enter details of the signature request
Enter a signature request title. This will become the subject line in your email sent. Also, enter a personal note about the signature request. This will be entered as the message sent to your signers.
Next, the Your Credit Status section will show if you have enough electronic signature credits to send the request. If not, check the box for "Get 10 credit package for $10" to get more.
Click Next to continue.
Step 7 - Set Signatures - Review the signature template
Review the electronic signature template and add or remove any signature and data fields you may or may not need.
Once you have completed adding or removing fields, click the "Agree and Send" button.
Your signature request will now appear on the Signature Requests page.
Note: Once a signature request is sent out for signatures, you can no longer make changes to them. Please double check email addresses, signer order, and all information before sending out signature requests. If changes do need to be made after one is sent out, you'll need to cancel the current request and create a new signature request with the correct information.
