The Steps

Note: The screenshots here will look different depending on whether you are on a desktop computer or on mobile. The steps will however be the same.

  1. Click Leasing > Inspections on the main menu.

  2. Find the lease with the unit that needs inspecting and click "Continue inspection."

  3. Next, click "Start Inspection."

  4. You will start with the first room and click "Inspect Area." The entire Area will show up on the left side where you can go through each Item to inspect.

  5. For each item, you will need to mark the following:

    1. Assess the condition

    2. Take photos of the feature

    3. Add any notes if necessary

    4. Assign who is responsible for any damages

  6. Click Next Item to continue.

  7. You will need to repeat the steps from step 5 until all the items in an area are completed. On the last feature, click "Complete Area" if you're on mobile to move on. Otherwise, go straight to the next step.

  8. On the Area overview , click "Next Area - [area] -->" to continue to the next room.

  9. The following steps will repeat what you just did from Steps 4 to Steps 8. Repeat again and again until you have completed all the Areas.

  10. Once you have completed the last area for inspection, click "Finish Inspection."

  11. If any of the areas are incompletely inspected and are missing assessments of any items, you will see this on an Inspection Incomplete summary. Click either "continue inspection" to inspect the remaining areas and items, or click on the "# missing" link next to each area to inspect a specific area first.

(You also have the option to skip the rest of the items that have not been inspected by clicking "Finish anyway.")

  12. Once the unit is thoroughly inspected, you will see an Overview of the inspection process. You'll see how many areas were inspected, how many items were inspected, number of issues found, and the number of photos taken. From here, you'll also have the option to download a full, detailed report of the entire inspection by clicking the "Export this as a PDF report" button. You can also choose to inspect another unit if there are more.

Note: If you ever need to save in the middle of an inspection, you can do so by clicking the "Save and close" button in the top right corner while inside of a room inspection.
