Overview
Property Owners can now make contributions directly from their owner portal. This is useful when you need owners to cover expenses such as repairs, maintenance, or reserve funding. Owners can pay by credit/debit card or bank account, and all payments are processed securely through Stripe — no setup required on your end.
The Steps
Turn On Owner Contributions in the Owner Portal
You will need to first enable Owner Contributions for your owners on their Owner Portal. To do so, first go to Settings on the main menu. Then under the Property Settings section, click Owner Portal.
On the Owner Portal window, click the Features tab. Then turn on the option for Online Contributions.
Click Save to finish.
How It Works From the Owner Portal
When an owner logs into their Owner Portal, they will see a Make a Contribution button. Here is a step-by-step look at what your owner will experience when making a contribution.
Step 1 — Initiate the Contribution
The owner logs into their Owner Portal and clicks Make a Contribution.
Step 2 — Enter Contribution Details
A Make a Contribution window will appear. The owner fills in the following:
Property — The property the contribution is for.
Contribution Amount — The amount they'd like to send.
Memo (optional) — A note providing context for the payment.
Once complete, the owner clicks Next.
Step 3 — Select a Payment Method
The owner selects how they'd like to pay and enters the payment information for both:
Credit / Debit Card — A 3.25% processing fee applies.
Bank Account / eCheck — A flat $0.99 fee applies.
Then, the owner fills in their personal information, including their name and address.
Step 5 — Review and Submit
The owner reviews their payment details to confirm everything looks correct, then clicks Pay.
Note: All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Neither you nor your owner's payment details are stored in DoorLoop.
Once submitted, the contribution will appear on the property's transactions.
