Overview
DoorLoop defines a Prospect as someone you've identified as a potential tenant. When an applicant submits a rental application, they're automatically created as a Prospect in DoorLoop. You can also add a Prospect yourself before they submit a rental application.
The Steps
To add a new prospect, click Create New at the top of the main menu. Then under the People section, click Prospect.
On the New Prospect window, on the Personal Info tab, enter as much information for the prospect as you'd like. A First Name and Last Name combination, or a Company name, is required. Contact Info (email and/or phone) is also required. Additional fields include Date of Birth, Social Security Number, Company, and Job Title. Much of this is automatically filled in if the prospect submits a rental application. There's also an optional Notes section for any additional information.
On the Contact Info section, this is where you would add additional contact phone numbers or emails.
From here, you can click Save after entering the minimal amount of info or continue to enter more. Additional information you can add includes:
Address - (Optional) The prospect's current address.
Alternate Address - (Optional) A secondary address, if needed.
Marketing Profile - (Optional) Several fields you can set to filter and sort prospects later:
Assigned To: The DoorLoop user this prospect is assigned to.
Lead Status: Tracks the status of the prospect lead. This updates automatically based on the prospect's stage, or can be set manually.
Lead Tag - Add a lead tag to organize your prospects based on different categories. More details here.
Lead Medium: The broader channel the lead came from — for example, organic traffic, paid ads, social media, referrals, email, or direct. You can enter anything here.
Min Bedrooms / Min Bathrooms: The number of beds/baths the prospect prefers.
Property: Add as many properties as needed to associate with this prospect.
Pets - (Optional) Add information about a prospect's pets, including name, type, breed, color, gender, age, and weight. You can also disclose if a pet is spayed/neutered or a service animal, and add multiple pets.
Vehicles - (Optional) Add a prospect's vehicle(s), including make, model, year, color, license plate, and state of the plate.
Dependent - (Optional) Add information about a prospect's dependents.
Click Save to finish.
Once saved, your new prospect is added to DoorLoop, where you can track their status and add them as a tenant if you rent to them later.
