Overview
Need to keep track of important details? You can add notes to almost anything in DoorLoop—tenants, leases, tasks, vendors, and more. It’s a simple way to store info you might need later.
Tip: You can add notes almost anywhere in DoorLoop—tenants, leases, properties, and more. To view a note later, go back to where you added it or search in the Notes section from the main menu.
The Steps
Add a Note
To add a note, find the object you want to add a note for in DoorLoop and click on it. For example, if you want to add a note to a unit, you would click Rentals > Units. Then click on the unit you want.
Click on the Notes tab and then click the Create New Note button.
Enter the following information for the note:
What's your note's title? - Enter the title of your note so it's easy to find later.
Write your note - Enter the content of your note.
Select Tags - If you've created Note Categories, you can assign your note to one of these categories so you can filter by it later. This can be helpful if you have a large number of notes and need to sort them.
Upload any necessary files (optional) and click Save to complete.
Tip: Notes that are created this way are internal and cannot be seen by the tenant. Any files that are uploaded to a note must be downloaded later if you want to view them. There is no preview for files uploaded to notes.
Edit a Notes
If you need to edit a note, find it on the Notes tab of wherever you created that note, and then click on it.
Make the changes you need to make, then click Save.
Note: You cannot edit the date of when a note was created, but you can edit the details of the note.
Delete a Note
Delete a note by clicking on the 3-dots icon next to the note and select Delete from the popup menu.
You now know how to add, edit, and delete notes anywhere in DoorLoop. Remember that notes are internal only — tenants can never see them.
