Overview

As you manage your properties, their ownership might change hands. Here's how to remove an owner from a property and add a new one.

Note: Creating Owners is not available to Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.

The Steps

  1. To remove a property owner from a property, click Rentals > Properties on the main menu.

  2. Find and click on the property you want to remove a property owner from.

  3. On the property's page, click on the Settings tab and then click Owners.

  4. On the Property Owner window, remove the property owner from the property by clicking the Trash Can icon in the top corner of the owner, then clicking the green checkmark to confirm. (If you need to add the new owner who purchased the property, you can add one or more owners here using the + Add Owner button.)

  5. If there are other owners on the property, make sure that the total ownership percentage for all owners equal 100% before you click Save. (If there are no owners left on the property, that's fine — you can still click Save.)

  6. Click Save to finish.

Once saved, the owner is removed from the property, and any new owners you added are ready to receive distributions or make contributions on it.
