Overview

If you create your leases in DoorLoop as draft leases to track the workflow as you go through the signing process with the tenants, you likely will need to edit or activate these draft leases later.

No problem, this is easy to do!

Activate a Draft Lease

  1. To activate a draft lease, from the main menu, click Leases and then click Draft Leases.

  2. Find the draft lease you need to activate and click on the three vertical dots icon on the right side of the line, then choose Activate Lease.

You can either sort the list by the various columns and filters or use the Search leases bar.

Alternatively, you can also activate a Draft Lease from the Overview page of the Draft Lease. There are two Activate Lease buttons you can use that are shown below.

That's it! You can now find this active lease in Leasing > Active Leases.

Edit a Draft Lease

  1. To edit a draft lease, from the main menu, click Leases and then click Draft Leases.

  2. Find the draft lease you need to edit and click on the three vertical dots icon on the right side of the line, then choose Edit.

Alternatively, you can also click on the Draft Lease and then when you're on the Overview page, click the Edit Draft button.

  3. On the Overview page, you'll be able to change the Lease Terms, edit those on this page. When you are done, click Next. If no lease term changes are needed, just click Next.

  4. On the Tenants page, if you need to add a Lease Tenant, use the + Add Tenant button. From here you can also choose if you want the Tenant Portal active or not and if you require Insurance.

When you are done, click Next. If you don't need to add tenants, just click Next.

  5. On the Rent page, make changes to the Rent Charges. Click Next to continue.

  6. On the Deposit page, make any changes you need for the Security Deposit or any other deposits you'll be requiring. Click Next to continue.

  7. On the Late Fees page, configure your late fee policy settings or turn late fees off. Click Next to continue.

  8. On the Status page, update the status of the draft lease renewal if needed. If everything looks correct, click Finish to complete updating your draft lease.
