Overview
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), also known as Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) works by adding an additional layer of security to accessing your DoorLoop account. When 2FA is enabled in DoorLoop, you will need a one-time code sent to your email address or smartphone via SMS to log in, in addition to your username and password. Two-factor authentication is on by default but is only sent to your email address. You can receive your 2FA codes via text message, but you'll need to enable that.
The Steps
To turn on two-factor authentication for SMS text messages, click Settings on the main menu and then click on Login & Password under the Personal section.
On the Login & Password Settings window, enter your Current Password and click Unlock.
Next, enter your six digit verification code that will be sent to your email address.
Once on the main Login & Password Settings window, you'll see that Two-Factor Authentication is already enabled, but only for your email. Toggle on SMS Authentication to turn on Two-Factor for text messages.
(If you are using SMS to authenticate and the number shown is not what you want to use, click the Change Number link. You will be able to enter a new phone number to use. A code will be sent to the new number to verify it. If you have an International phone number, be sure to select your country code.)
Once back on the Login & Password Settings window, click Save to finish.
That’s all! You can now receive your verification code via SMS text messages.
Note: Two-Factor Authentication can not be turned off.
