Overview

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), also known as Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) works by adding an additional layer of security to accessing your DoorLoop account. When 2FA is enabled in DoorLoop, you will need a one-time code sent to your email address or smartphone via SMS to log in, in addition to your username and password.

2FA is enabled by default, but if you turn it off and want to turn it back on later, the following steps show you how!

The Steps

  1. To turn on two-factor authentication, click Settings on the main menu and then click on Login & Password in the Personal section.

  2. Enter your Current Password on the Unlock Settings window and click Unlock.

  3. Once inside, you can enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) by clicking on the toggle.

  4. When you enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), you'll see the option to choose either Email Authentication or SMS Authentication. Depending on which method you choose, you will be sent either an email or an SMS with a confirmation code to verify your device or email.

If you are using SMS to authenticate and the number shows is not what you want to use, click the Change Number link. You will be able to enter a new phone number to use. A code will be sent to the new number to verify it.

  5. Click Save to finish.

That’s all! The next time you log in, you will need to enter the verification code that is emailed to you.

Tip: While we strongly recommend keeping two-factor authentication on for security reasons, we provide you the ability to disable it.
