Overview
If you want to give your owners access to your account so they can view (but not edit) relevant information and reports, you can do this by adding them as a User and giving them the Property Owners role.
For example, you might want your owners to be able to log in and view tenants and lease transactions in their properties, and view reports such as their Profit & Loss statement or their Rent Roll without you having to send it to them. Let's go through inviting your owners to the portal now!
Tip: You can accomplish much of this by inviting your property owner to their own Owner Portal instead. This way, you don't have to fiddle with User Roles.
The Steps
To set your owner up as a user on your DoorLoop account, click Settings on the main menu and then click Users under the Company section.
On the Users page, click + New User on the top right corner of the page.
On the New User window, enter as much information as you want. You must enter either a First Name and Last Name or Company name. You will also need to enter a Login Email Address for your owner. This is used to invite the Owner to join your DoorLoop account.
Select the Property Owner user role in the drop-down box. This default role is set with permissions usually given to owners, but you can edit the role permissions if needed.
(Refer to this article and video for information on creating User Roles. If you are on the Starter plan, you will only be able to use the default user roles and not be able to edit them.)
If you want to limit the the owner to only view specific properties and/or bank accounts, head to the Property and Bank Accounts sections which allow you to specify exactly what properties and bank accounts this owner can see.
When finished entering data, click Save. This automatically sends an invitation email to the owner, which they use to set up a password.
That’s it! Once your owners set up a password, they can go to https://app.doorloop.com/auth/login and use their email address and password to log in to your DoorLoop account.
You can track the status of this invite email by going to Communications > Communications Log.
