Overview

In the past, if you wanted to post charges to multiple units on a property, you'd have to post those charges one at a time to each unit. Now, DoorLoop allows you to post bulk charges for multiple units on a property at once. An example of why you'd want to do this is if you wanted to add a parking fee to all your units. By applying bulk charges, it will save you a lot of time.

Note: Bulk Charges are not available to Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.

The Steps

  1. To post bulk charges on multiple leases, click the + Create New in the upper left-hand corner of DoorLoop.

  2. Click Post Charge under the Tenant Transactions section.

  3. On the Post Charge window, click on Switch to Bulk Post Charges to create bulk charges.

  4. You’ll be prompted to select which properties you want to post bulk charges for. Click on the first property you want to post Bulk Charges to.

  5. Select the units you want to apply bulk charges to. You will only be able to select units that have active leases on them. (You can either click the box next to each line item or the top box to select all units.)

  6. Next, enter the required information:

    • Account: Choose the account for the charge

    • Due Date: Change the due date for the charge if needed

  7. Next, choose the Common Charge Allocation you'll be using. Choose to allocate the charges manually, evenly per unit, or by the size of the units.

    • Allocate Manually: You will need to enter the amounts manually for each unit.

    • Allocate Evenly: Evenly distribute the Total Charge amount between all units.

    • Allocate by Size: Distribute the Total Charge amount between all units based on size.

  8. If you choose the Allocate Evenly or Allocate by Size option, you’ll need to enter a Total Charge amount and have the option to choose Rounding type (by nearest hundredth, nearest tenth, or nearest whole number). Then click Allocate.

This will distribute the Total Charge to each of the Units you chose based on the parameters you set.

  9. Click Save to finish.

If you need to post more bulk charges, just repeat the steps again.

Tip: You can only create bulk charges for multiple units if they're on the same property. If you have to make charges on other units, you'll need to repeat the steps below for each property.
