Overview

Rent charges are posted on the date that they are due, based on the rent schedule. That means that if rent is due on the 1st, it will be posted on the 1st of the month. But what if you want rent to post several days before the due date? DoorLoop now gives you the option to post rent charges before those charges are due, giving your tenants extra time to make a payment before the due date.

The Steps

Set Up Company Default Settings for Posting Rent Charges Before the Due Date

  1. To set up if you want rent charges to post before the due date, click Settings on the main menu and then click Rent & Payment Notifications under Property Settings.

  2. On the Rent & Payment Notifications window, go to the Rent Posted section and toggle on Post charges to the account before the due date.

  3. You'll be prompted to enter the number of days before rent is due. This is the number of days before rent is due that the rent charge will be posted. (For instance, if you enter 3, the rent will post on the 27th instead of the 1st of the month.)

  4. (Optional) Choose whether or not to send a notification to the tenant when rent is posted and if you want to attach any account statements or invoices to the notifications.

  5. Click Save to finish.

Set Up Property Level Settings for Posting Rent Charges Before the Due Date

  4. On the Rent & Payment Notification window, use the "Specify notifications for this property" option to set custom settings for this property.

  5. Go to the Rent Posted section and toggle on, Post charges to the account before the due date. Enter the number of days before rent is due. This is the number of days before rent is due that the rent charge will be posted. (For instance, if you enter 3, the rent will post on the 27th instead of the 1st of the month.)

  6. Click Save to finish.
