Overview

The Receive Payments page is your one-stop destination to check on all things related to your merchant account with Stripe. This new centralized Merchant Account Overview page is where you'll now see all your ePay transactions, the statuses of those transactions, disbursements and the status of those payouts, when those will be deposited, and more.

Note: The Receive Payments status page is not available to Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.

The Steps

To see an overview of tenant's ePays, you'll want to click Accounting on the main menu and then click Receive Payments under the Online Payments section.

From here, you'll be able to see all tenant ePays and what stage of the process they are in, whether they are processing, approved, in transit, or deposited into your bank account. You also be able to view your payment limits, when your ePays are scheduled to be deposited, and when they were deposited.

Balance Summary

The Balance Summary tab is the overview of all your merchant accounts and the funds that are flowing to them from your tenants via ePay. Here's where you'll see a quick overview of various payment statuses and when funds are expected to be deposited into your bank account.

  • Payments Processing - This section will show you a summary of transactions on a certain date and the status of those transactions. You'll see the statuses for Pending and Processing. Once payments have been captured, the'll show up in the section below.

  • Transactions Available to Pay Out Soon - This section shows all funds that have been successfully collected from your tenant. These transactions will show as In Transit here. Note that In Transit here does not mean it is in your bank account yet. It means that the funds were successfully captured so the next step will be to deposit it in your bank account.

The date shown is an estimate and can be affected by your bank and bank holidays.

  • Recently Deposited - This will show funds that have already been deposited in your bank account within the last 7 days.

You can view the status of specific merchant accounts too if you use the Merchant Account dropdown menu. This will show only information for that specific merchant account.

Each section also has a View All button you can click. Clicking this link will take you to its corresponding section. For instance, if you click View All under and of the Transactions sections, it'll take you to the tab for Transactions where you can see a detailed view of what all the transactions are. If you click View All for the Deposits, it'll take you to the Deposits tab to view details of all the deposits in the last 7 days.

Transactions

The Transactions tab is where you'll see every single payment made by your tenants. You'll see details such as the date the payment was made, the amount, which bank account those payments will be paid out to, the type of payment, who made the payment, and when those funds will be available to you. The most important bit of information here though is the status where you can see at what stage the payment is in on the day you check it.

For instance, you can see here that there is a payment that was made on 7/25/2023 via ACH for the amount of $1000 that is currently being processed. Another example is a payment made on 7/18/2023 via ACH for $2 that not only failed to process but also was returned. This is very useful information especially if you want to see what's going on at a glance with all your payments coming in from your tenants.

  • Processing: Payment is being processed

  • In Transit: Payment was successfully cleared and is awaiting disbursement

  • Failed: Payment failed and was reversed

  • Pending Review: Mainly credit card payments are being reviewed for risk

  • Paid: Payment has been deposited into your bank account

The last column is labeled Est. Arrival and is the expected date when a deposit should enter your bank account. This is a rough estimate. If you see a Green checkmark and a date, that means the transaction has entered your bank account already and has been deposited.

You can filter the results by clicking on the filter button next to the search bar. From here you can filter for items like date, when the funds will be available, and by account. Filtering by account allows you to narrow down your results by bank account.

General Information

The General Information tab shows a summary of your Bank Accounts that have Merchant Accounts attached to them. From here you can see a quick summary of general account information, such as the Account Name, the Contact Person for each account, what the Payout Bank Account is for each Merchant Account, and the Max Payment Limit for each.

If you click on the 3 dots to the right of each merchant account, you can select Update Information to update your merchant account information.

The top bar will also show what your current Monthly Usage % is of your total Max Monthly Total. The Max Monthly Total is the amount you can collect from all your accounts and tenants this month, combined.

You'll also notice a new button labeled, Update Limits. Pressing this will open up a chat where you'll need to provide two pieces of information:

  1. The specific reason for the limit increase request.

  2. Upload any supporting lease documentation or financial records that can help us assess your request more accurately.

Once you upload the information needed, please wait a moment and you'll get a response back with a link you'll need to press. This link will finalize your submission with the merchant team and they'll now have a ticket for your limit increase request.

Please note that the process can take between 1-2 days and you'll hear back from the merchant team

Deposits

The Deposits tab mainly just shows your last 7 payouts to all your bank accounts. The information here includes the bank account, the amount of the deposit, the number of transactions included in each deposit, the status, and the expected/arrival date to your account.

Status can include the following:

  • In Transit (Blue): The payout has been disbursed by the processor and is on the way to your bank account. There will also be an estimated arrival date posted.

  • Paid (Green): The payout has successfully been deposited into your bank account.

  • Failed (Red): The payout was not deposited into your account and was sent back.

The Deposits tab also lets you filter for results. You can filter by a date range or period and also filter the results by status and bank account.

As you can see, the Receive Payments page has a lot of useful information that you otherwise wouldn't have been able to see or had to deduce by digging through various reports before. Now you can quickly glance at all your tenants' online payments and when you can expect to see them deposited into your bank accounts.

No more guessing when those payments will be deposited.
