Overview

The Receive Payments page is your one-stop destination to check on all things related to your merchant account with Stripe. This new centralized Merchant Account Overview page is where you will see all your tenant's online payments, the statuses of those payments, processing times when those payments will be deposited, and more.

The Steps

To see a complete overview of your tenant's ePays (online payments), click Accounting on the main menu and then click Receive Payments under the Online Payments section.

Once on the Receive Payments page, you'll be able to view all tenant payments and the status of those online payments, whether they are processing, approved, in transit, or deposited into your bank account. You can also view your payment limits and time frame estimates for when payments will be deposited into your bank account.

There are four main sections on the Receive Payments page which we will go over, below.

Balance Summary

The Balance Summary section provides an overview of all your merchant accounts and the funds flowing to them from your tenants via ePay. Here, you'll see a quick overview of various payment statuses and when funds are expected to be deposited into your bank account. This page is broken up into three sections:

  • Payments Processing - This section will show you a summary of how many payments on a specific date are processing and the status of those payments. You'll see the statuses as Pending or Processing. Once payments have been captured, they'll show up in the section below.

  • Transactions Available to Pay Out Soon - This section shows all funds that have been successfully collected from your tenants. These transactions in this section will show as In Transit. (In Transit here does not mean it is in your bank account yet. It means that the funds were successfully captured so the next step will be to deposit it in your bank account.)

The date shown is an estimate and can be affected by your bank and bank holidays.

  • Recently Deposited - This will show funds that have already been deposited in your bank account within the last 7 days.

You can also view the status of specific merchant accounts using the Merchant Account dropdown menu. Selecting a bank account will only show information for that specific merchant account.

Each section also has a View All button you can click. Clicking this link will take you to its corresponding section. For instance, if you click View All under and of the Transactions sections, it'll take you to the tab for Transactions where you can see a detailed view of what all the transactions are. If you click View All for the Deposits, it'll take you to the Deposits tab to view details of all the deposits in the last 7 days.

Transactions

The Transactions section is where you'll see every payment made by your tenants. You'll see details such as the date the payment was made, the amount, which bank account those payments will be paid out to, the type of payment, who made the payment, and when those funds will be available to you.

The most important bit of information here, though, is the status column. You can see at a glance what step in the processing of a payment is in:

  • Processing: Payment is being processed

  • In Transit: Payment was successfully cleared and is awaiting disbursement

  • Failed: Payment failed and was reversed

  • Pending Review: Mainly credit card payments are being reviewed for risk

  • Paid: Payment has been deposited into your bank account

The last column is labeled Est. Arrival and is the expected date when a deposit should enter your bank account. This is a rough estimate. If you see a Green checkmark and a date, that means the transaction has entered your bank account already and has been deposited.

You can filter the results by clicking on the filter button next to the search bar. From here you can filter for items like date, when the funds will be available, and by account. Filtering by account allows you to narrow down your results by bank account.

General Information

The General Information section shows a summary of your Bank Accounts with Merchant Accounts attached to them. From here you can see a quick summary of general account information, such as the Account Name, the Contact Person for each account, what the Payout Bank Account for each Merchant Account is, and the Max Payment Limit for each.

If you click on the 3 dots to the right of each merchant account, you can select Update Information to update your merchant account information.

The top bar will also show what your current Monthly Usage % is of your total Max Monthly Total. The Max Monthly Total is the amount you can collect from all your accounts and tenants this month, combined.

You'll also notice a new button labeled, Update Limits. Pressing this will open up a chat where you'll need to provide two pieces of information:

  1. The specific reason for the limit increase request.

  2. Upload any supporting lease documentation or financial records that can help us assess your request more accurately.

Once you upload the information needed, please wait a moment and you'll get a response back with a link you'll need to press. This link will finalize your submission with the merchant team and they'll now have a ticket for your limit increase request.

Please note that the process can take between 1-2 days and you'll hear back from the merchant team

Deposits

The Deposits section mainly just shows your last 7 payouts on all your bank accounts. The information here includes the bank account, the amount of the deposit, the number of transactions included in each deposit, the status, and the expected/arrival date to your account.

Status can include the following:

  • In Transit (Blue): The payout has been disbursed by the processor and is on the way to your bank account. There will also be an estimated arrival date posted.

  • Paid (Green): The payout has successfully been deposited into your bank account.

  • Failed (Red): The payout was not deposited into your account and was sent back.

The Deposits tab also lets you filter for results. You can filter by a date range or period and also filter the results by status and bank account.

As you can see, the Receive Payments page has a lot of useful information that you otherwise wouldn't have been able to see or had to deduce by digging through various reports before. Now, you can quickly glance at all your tenants' online payments and when you can expect to see them deposited into your bank accounts.

No more guessing when those payments will be deposited.
