Overview

The one thing you don't want when renting out your units is having tenants not pay their rent on time. Sometimes tenants do forget to pay, but now you can notify tenants that their rent payment is overdue and to please make the payment as soon as they can.

The Steps

Turn On Property-Level Rent Overdue Notifications

  1. To turn on rent overdue notifications for a specific property, click Rentals on the main menu and then click Properties.

  2. Find the Property you want to edit and click on it.

  3. On the main Overview page for the property, click the Settings tab and then click Rent & Payment Notifications.

  4. You will be presented with two options here on the Rent & Payment Notifications window:

    • Use Company Default Notifications - Choose this if you want to use the default settings.

    • Specify Notifications For This Property - Choose this if you want to specify unique settings for this property.

Choose Specify Notifications For This Property.

  5. Go to the Rent Overdue section and turn on "Send recurring notifications to remind the tenant about overdue rent".

  6. You'll want to now fill in the following information:

    • Days after rent is due: Number of days after rent has not been paid in which notifications will start going out. So if you want notifications to start going out 1 day after the rent due date, enter 1.

    • Frequency: Enter how often these notifications will go out until rent is paid.

  7. Click Save to finish.
