Overview
Editing a lease payment is normally an easy process, however, if you have deposited that payment already, you'll need to take certain steps before being able to edit or delete that payment.
The Steps
To edit a payment that has already been deposited, click Leasing on the main menu and then click Active Leases.
Find and click on the lease you want to edit a payment on.
Click on the Transactions tab and find the lease transaction you need to edit. Click on the 3-dots on the right side of the transaction line and choose Edit.
Once on the Receive Payments window, you'll see that the payment has already been deposited. You will first need to click on the View Deposit button. This will take you to the Edit Bank Deposit window.
On the Edit Bank Deposit window, you'll see the deposit that was made for the payment. You have two options here for how to delete the bank deposit:
If the Deposit for the payment is part of a group or payments bundled in one deposit, just Uncheck the box next to that Payment and click Save.
If the Deposit for the payment only includes one payment, click the Trash Can icon at the bottom left corner to undeposit the payment.
You'll now be back in the Transactions tab. You'll notice that the payment you were trying to edit or delete now shows that the payment is Undeposited. Click the 3-dots on the right side of the payment line and click Edit.
On the Receive Payment window, change the necessary fields. You can do so now that the payment isn't deposited.
Click Save to Finish.
