Edit or Delete a Lease Payment That Has Already Been Deposited

If a lease payment has already been deposited, you'll need to remove it from the deposit first before you can edit or delete it.

Overview

Editing or deleting a lease payment is normally straightforward, but if the payment has already been deposited, you'll need to undo the deposit first before DoorLoop will let you make changes.

Note: If the payment hasn't been deposited yet, you don't need the steps below — just click the 3-dots on the right side of the payment line and choose either Edit or Delete:

  • To edit the payment: Click Edit, change the necessary fields on the Receive Payment window, and click Save.

  • To delete the payment: Click Delete, then confirm on the Delete Confirmation window. Important: Deleting a payment is permanent and cannot be undone.

The Steps

  1. To edit or delete a payment that has already been deposited on a lease, click Leasing > Leases on the main menu.

  2. Find and click on the lease you want to edit or delete a payment on.

  3. On the lease, click on the Transactions tab. Then find and click on the Payment you want to edit or delete.

  4. On the Receive Payment window, you'll see that the payment has already been deposited. Click the View Deposit button. This takes you to the Edit Bank Deposit window.

  5. On the Edit Bank Deposit window, remove the payment from the deposit using one of these options:

    • If the deposit includes multiple payments bundled together: Uncheck the box next to the payment you need to edit or delete, then click Save.

    • If the deposit only includes this one payment: Click the Trash Can icon at the top corner to undeposit the payment. Then confirm on the Delete Confirmation window.

  6. You'll be back on the Transactions tab, where the payment now shows as Undeposited. Click the 3-dots on the right side of the payment line, and choose either Edit or Delete:

    • To edit the payment: Click Edit, change the necessary fields on the Receive Payment window, and click Save.

    • To delete the payment: Click Delete, then confirm on the Delete Confirmation window. Important: Deleting a payment is permanent and cannot be undone.

Once the payment is edited or deleted, the lease's balance and Transactions tab will update to reflect the change.
