Overview
If you are receiving this error message when trying to send an outgoing payment, "400 Amount is larger than $2000 and requires a signature" error, it means that you have not added a signature to Checkbook.io yet, which is required for sending an amount that is larger than $2000. Adding a signature in Checkbook.io is a simple process.
Note: These instructions for voiding a payment on Checkbook.io are only for those users who still see the outgoing payments settings under Settings > Outgoing Payments. If you do not see these settings, please do not use these instructions.
The Steps
Adding your signature to Checkbook.io
Log into your Checkbook.io account. Click Settings on the left-hand menu. On the right-hand side of the Profile Info page, you'll see a section for Signature.
Click on "Draw or upload your signature | Type your signature." The Edit Your Signature Online window will appear. Use your mouse or touchpad to sign in the box, or you can upload an image of your signature to use.
Click Save to finish. Your signature will now be added to your Checkbook.io account.
Pending payments not sending after adding a signature
If you had any pending payments you were trying to send before adding your signature, you may notice that these may not send and will still give you the "400 Amount is larger than $2000 and requires signature" error. In this case, we recommend you do the following:
Click Accounting on the main menu and then click Send Payments.
For the payments you see on the list that can not be sent, click the 3 dots to the right of each payment and click Delete.
Re-create those payments. Once you have done this, you will be able to send them out without issues.
