Overview

Tasks are a great way of keeping track of maintenance, vendor work, tenant and owner requests—or any workflow management you need. The real power of tasks is keeping track of deadlines and having a log of all work and communication related to the tasks for later reference. However, tasks can be hard to keep track of if you don't have notifications set for them, so here's how you would enable notifications for the tasks and work orders you create.

The Steps

Notify users for new tasks and work orders

  1. Notifications for tasks and work orders are turned on when creating them, so click Tasks & Maintenance on the main menu and then click All Tasks.

  2. Click on either the New Task or New Work Order button at the top right corner.

  3. On the New Task or New Work Order window, choose an Assignee, which would be you or another User. Next, check the box for "Notify Assignee(s)".

  4. Fill in the rest of the information needed for the task or work order and click Save to finish.

That's it. In summary, just make sure the box for "Notify Assignee(s)" is clicked on and that all Assignees are set.

Notify users when tasks and work orders are updates

  1. To post an update to a task or work orders, click "Post an Update" to get started.

  2. On the Post an Update window, if any of the Assignees decides to Post an Update, they need to also check the box for "Notify Assignee(s)".

  3. Click Save to finish.

Tip: Users will be notified by email or push notification if they have the DoorLoop app installed on their mobile device. Also note that for Work Orders, notifications are only sent to Assignees who are Users. They do not get sent to Vendors.
