Record Miscellaneous Income Not Specific to a Lease

Record income that isn't tied to a lease, such as laundry machines, vending machines, or other property amenities.

Overview

It's not uncommon for a property with many units to have income outside of what's included in a lease. This could be income from laundry machines, snack machines, an arcade, and similar sources. You can track and record this extra income in DoorLoop with a simple bank deposit.

Note: You can only record miscellaneous income this way. You cannot receive a payment for miscellaneous income in DoorLoop if it isn't associated with a lease.

The Steps

  1. To record miscellaneous revenue that isn't tied to a specific lease, click the Create New button at the top of the main menu. Then under the Transactions section, click Bank Deposit.

  2. On the Bank Deposit window, select your Deposit Account first. Then, enter the following information in the Other Deposit Items section:

    • Property: Select the property the funds are associated with.

    • Category: Select the revenue account associated with this outside income, such as Laundry Service or Snack Machines.

    • Amount: Enter the amount that was deposited.

All the other fields are optional.

  3. Add any relevant files to this deposit for reference.

  4. Click Save to finish.

Note: If the miscellaneous income is shared between multiple properties, split the amount between your properties and enter them as separate deposits.

Your miscellaneous income is now recorded and will show up in reports for the property and revenue account you selected.
