Overview
All merchant accounts created on DoorLoop have a maximum payment limit set for transactions made online over the tenant portal. These transaction limits are put in place to protect you from any fraudulent behavior from tenants that could cause a loss in finances.
The Steps
To view your tenant's max payment limit for payments made on the tenant portal, click Accounting on the main menu and then click Incoming Payments.
Click the Usage & Limits Info section on the Receive Payments page.
The Usage & Limit Info section shows a summary of your Bank Accounts with Merchant Accounts attached to them. From here you can see a quick summary of general account information, such as the Account Name, the Contact Person for each account, what the Payout Bank Account for each Merchant Account is, and the Max Payment Limit for each.
The Max Monthly Payment Per Lease is the amount that each tenant is allowed to make each month before reaching the payment limit. To check your merchant account's payment limits, hover over the "Max Monthly Payment per Lease" amount. A popup will appear with the Monthly Limits Breakdown and the maximum limit tenants can pay using credit card or ACH.
The top bar will also show what your current Merchant Account Monthly Usage is of your total Max Monthly Total. The Max Monthly Total is the amount you can collect from all your accounts and tenants this month, combined.
If needed, you can increase your payment limit as well. Refer to this article if you want to request a payment limit increase: Requesting a Rent Payment Limit Increase
Note: The credit card rent payment limit is different than that of the max monthly payment per lease. Your tenant can still encounter a payment limit if that are using a credit card, even if the monthly limit is higher.
