Overview
The Account Launch Date setting in DoorLoop, previously known as the Company Start Date, helps the system know when you plan to officially begin using DoorLoop to manage new leases. The dates you set here impact several key areas of your account.
Your Launch Date determines when automatic charges and transactions will begin in DoorLoop. In addition, the Days Before Launch setting controls when tenants, owners, and vendors can start receiving portal invitations, payment reminders, and system notifications.
The Launch Date also affects how you enter existing leases that started before you began using DoorLoop. For any leases with a start date earlier than your Launch Date, the system will not offer options for prorating those leases. Instead, credits will be applied to the opening balance to account for payments already collected, ensuring your accounting stays accurate.
By setting your Launch Date thoughtfully, you can ensure a smooth transition to DoorLoop and keep your lease and payment records in perfect order from day one.
The Steps
To set the DoorLoop Account Launch Date, click on Settings on the main menu. Then click Account Launch Date under the Company section.
You'll now be on the Account Launch Date window. Enter the following information:
Launch Date: Set the date of when you want to officially launch DoorLoop to your tenants. Once set, this will disable automatic posting of charges and transactions until the date you set.
Days Before Launch: Set the date when you want to have your tenants, owners, and vendors set up to use DoorLoop. This is the date when they'll be able to receive portal invitations, payment reminders, and notifications. This date can be different from the Launch Date.
Click Schedule Launch to continue.
You'll see a Launch Scheduled confirmation window. This will confirm when your account will go live as well as when your tenants will begin to receive notifications and portal invites.
Once the Launch Date is set up, your DoorLoop account will automatically launch on these dates. Note that if needed, you can edit theses dates before the launch if needed.
Tip: We recommend using the 1st of the following month when you signed up to DoorLoop, but no less than 14 days from the date you sign up.
Taking a few moments to set your Account Launch Date correctly helps you avoid surprises and ensures your lease, charge, and payment workflows run smoothly from the start. With your launch settings in place, you can confidently move forward and make the most of everything DoorLoop offers to help you manage your properties with ease.
Note: Once you have officially launched your DoorLoop, the Account Launch Date settings will no longer be accessible and will disappear from the Settings page.
