Overview
DoorLoop provides a powerful tool at the top of the software called Global Search. It enables property managers to quickly find what they need with just a few keystrokes, helping them manage their business with speed and simplicity.
Global Search is designed for efficiency: it focuses on finding very specific items, which we will detail below, so you can spend less time searching and more time managing and growing your properties. True to DoorLoop’s commitment to built for speed and surprisingly simple software, Global Search ensures that important information is always just a few clicks away.
How Global Search Works
Global Search is located at the very top of DoorLoop and is always visible. Clicking the search bar will slide down the Global Search bar from the top of DoorLoop. You'll notice that the search bar specifically mentions Properties, Units, Leases, People, and Tasks (tasks, work orders, tenant requests). This is because the Global Search is meant specifically to find these items quickly without having to go into each section to find them.
You'll also be able to search for specific pages, such as the tenants page, properties page, prospects page, etc. This can be a faster way of getting to certain pages without having to click through the menus. You can also search for specific reports now with the Global Search without having to go to the reports page. Lastly, you can use the Global Search for Create New actions, such as to create new rental applications, leases, charges, etc.
There are limitations however that we should discuss.
You can not search for the contents of items or any details associated with these items. You also can not search for accounting-related details, such as specific charges or payments. Nor can you search for bills or expenses. You also can not use this to search for system settings or anything from the Knowledge Base.
To search for Knowledge Base articles and support docs, please use the blue chat bubble at the lower right corner of DoorLoop and use the Search for Help bar or click the Help tab.
