Overview

The Communications Center is a brand-new, premium SMS messaging platform built within DoorLoop to provide Property Managers with a simple way of communicating between you and your tenants, owners, vendors, and prospects. This negates the need to use external channels to communicate and keeps everything in a centralized location within DoorLoop.

Here is how you send a new message to someone.

Note: The Communications Center is not available for Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.

The Steps

  1. To send a new SMS text message to a tenant, prospect, owner, or vendor, click Communications > My Inbox on the main menu. Click the Create New icon or the Send a Message button to start a new message with someone.

  2. In the messaging pane, click the To: field and search for the person you want to send an SMS (text message) to. This can be a tenant, prospect, owner, or vendor, and this person needs to have a mobile phone number entered. Once you begin typing their name out, suggestions will appear below that you can click on.

  3. Click the Unassigned button to assign a User to the message. Most likely it will be yourself. If not, it will be another user who will be monitoring the message for a reply.

  4. Next, type your message out in the new message field (SMS messages are limited to 160 characters). Click the arrow when you are ready to send the message.

That's it. You created your first message. Now just wait for the person to reply back and you can continue your conversation from there.

Note: You can only send plain text SMS messages to your prospects, tenants, owners, and vendors on the Communications Center. MMS messaging via the Communications Center is not yet available and is coming in the future.

Tip: If you have multiple Users on your DoorLoop Account, they can send SMS messages using the same Communications Center phone number. All messages sent from the Communication Center will be labeled with the User who sent the message. That adds accountability and an audit log for each message sent. You will also see a time stamp along with the status of the message sent and received.
