Overview
Consider sending a welcome SMS to your tenants, prospects, vendors, and owners after setting up the Communication Center. The welcome SMS lets your recipients know that the number is not spam and is coming from the property manager. This will include opt-out instructions, if they do not want to receive messages from you.
Note: The Communications Center is not available for Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.
The Steps
Send a welcome SMS to your tenants
There are two ways you can send a welcome SMS to your tenants. This can be done when you are creating a new lease or after when editing your tenant's profile.
When creating a lease, there will be an option to send a welcome message to your tenants. This is when you are adding your tenants to a lease. You will need to make sure that your tenants have a valid mobile phone number that can receive SMS.
Send a welcome SMS when editing a tenant's profile. In the Personal Info section, make sure a Mobile Phone number is entered. Then, near the bottom, toggle on "Send Welcome SMS." This will send a welcome SMS to their phone with your contact information on it.
You can double-check to see if the welcome SMS was sent by viewing the Communications Log.
Send a welcome SMS to your prospects
Just like the tenant, you can send a welcome SMS to your prospects when editing their profile information. Your prospects will need a valid mobile phone number to receive the message.
Click People > Prospects and find the prospect. Click the 3 dots and then click Edit. On the Personal Info section, toggle on "Send Welcome SMS."
You can double-check to see if the welcome SMS was sent by viewing the Communications Log.

You can send a welcome SMS to your vendors when editing their profile information. Your vendors will need a valid mobile phone number to receive the message.
Click People > Vendors and find the vendor. Click the 3 dots and then click Edit. On the Personal Info section, toggle on "Send Welcome SMS."

You can send a welcome SMS to your owners when editing their profile information. Your owners will need a valid mobile phone number to receive the message.
