Overview
When you end a lease, there shouldn't be a need to edit the least terms of an inactive lease. However, there can be instances where this is necessary, especially if an inactive lease is still showing up on the rent roll or if you need to edit the lease terms to reflect the actual terms of the lease.
Note: Editing the lease terms on an inactive lease will not reactive the lease, even if you set new end terms for the future. If you need to reactive an inactive lease, please contact support and we can assist you with this.
The Steps
To edit the lease terms on an inactive lease, click Leasing on the main menu and then click on Inactive Leases.
Find the inactive lease you want to edit terms for and click on it.
Click on the Settings tab and then click Lease Terms.
(Alternatively, you can also click on the blue circle with three vertical dots in the top right corner and select Edit.)
Change the Start date, End date, turn on or off Rollover to "Month to Month" at the end of the term, or switch to a Month-to-Month lease as needed.
Click Save to finish.
That's it! Despite having set the wrong terms on a lease, you were able to edit it to set new updated terms.
