Overview
Recurring rent charges, by design, cannot be deleted if they are active. This is because there should be at least one recurring rent charge on the lease at any given time. However, you can still delete them if certain conditions are met.
The Steps
To delete a recurring rent charge that isn't needed on a lease anymore, click Leasing > Leases on the main menu.
Find and click on the lease for which you want to delete a recurring rent charge on.
Click the Rent tab and find the recurring rent charge you need to delete. Click the 3-dots to the right of the recurring rent charge and click Delete.
Whether this works depends on the status of the recurring rent charge:
Expired charges can be deleted, since they're no longer active.
Future charges can be deleted, since they haven't started yet.
Active charges cannot be deleted using this method, since a lease must always have one active recurring rent charge in place.
Change the recurring rent charge amount to $0
If the lease only has one active recurring rent charge and you want it to stop posting each month without deleting it, you can change the amount of the recurring rent charge to $0 instead.
This satisfies the requirement that an active recurring rent charge must exist on the lease, while effectively pausing the monthly charge.
