Overview

Portfolios let you group properties together so you can sort and filter by Portfolio across reports and your dashboard. This is useful if you manage properties across multiple LLCs or different ownership structures.

Tip: If you operate multiple LLCs to hold different groups of properties, DoorLoop’s portfolio structure can help you manage this effectively. You can create a separate portfolio for each LLC, allowing you to keep the properties, bank accounts, and financial records for each legal entity fully separated within the system. This makes it much easier to maintain proper accounting, comply with legal and tax requirements, and avoid inadvertently mixing funds between LLCs.

The Steps

  1. To create a new portfolio, click Settings on the main menu. Then under the Related Lists section, click Portfolios.

  2. On the Portfolios window, enter a Tag Name for your new portfolio. If you've previously added portfolios, you'll need to click the + Add Line Item link first.

  3. Then, use the Select Properties dropdown menu to select the properties you would like to include in this portfolio. Use the checkboxes to to add additional properties.

  4. Once you have added all your desired properties to this portfolio, click Save Changes to finish. This portfolio is now available for use for reporting and filtering throughout DoorLoop.

  5. To add another portfolio, click on + Add Line Item link again and repeat the steps above.

Your portfolios are now available to use for filtering and reporting throughout DoorLoop.

Tip: Portfolios are a good way to organize different properties for multiple owners so you can easily view information for those specific owners. Note that you need to also add these owners to the properties that they own.
