Overview
If you created a lease you don't need, you can delete it as long as all transactions on that lease are also deleted. While you normally wouldn't delete a lease, you would delete a lease for something like creating a fake lease for testing purposes.
You would not delete a lease just because it ended. In that case, you would use the End Lease process.
You would not delete a lease just because you created a lease with incorrect lease terms and want to start over. In this case, you would edit the active lease to update the terms.
Let's go through deleting your fake test leases now!
The Steps
To delete a lease, click Leases on the main menu and then click Active Leases.
Find the lease you want to delete and click on it. You can either sort the list by the various columns and filters or use the Search leases search bar.
Click on the Transactions tab and delete all the transactions. To do this, click on the check box below the search bar and to the left of the Type column to select all the transactions at once, or click the check boxes on the left side of individual transactions to select them.
Once you have checked the boxes, click the Delete link and confirm the Delete Confirmation.
Note that if a transaction you are trying to delete is a payment that has already been deposited, you will not be able to delete the payment until you delete the corresponding bank deposit. You need to edit the payment, click on the View Deposit button, and delete the deposit to delete the lease payment. Also note that if there are any ePay payments on the lease, you will not be able to delete those or delete the lease.
Now that all the transactions are deleted, click on the blue circle with three vertical dots icon in the top right corner and select Delete.
In the Delete Confirmation, click the Delete button.
If you deleted all the transactions for this lease, it will successfully be deleted and you are done!
