Overview

If you created a lease you no longer want to appear on your DoorLoop account, you can delete it as long as all transactions on that lease are also deleted. While we normally wouldn't recommend deleting a lease, you can if you absolutely need to, though it will require some advanced steps.

Note: You would not delete a lease in these circumstances.

The Steps

Delete an Active Lease

  1. To delete a lease, click Leases on the main menu and then click Active Leases.

  2. Find the lease you want to delete and click on it.

  3. Click on the Transactions tab and delete all the transactions. To do this, click on the check box below the search bar and to the left of the Type column to select all the transactions at once, or click the check boxes on the left side of individual transactions to select them.

Once you have checked the boxes, click the Delete link and confirm the Delete Confirmation.

If a transaction you are trying to delete is a payment that has already been deposited, you will not be able to delete the payment until you delete the corresponding bank deposit. You need to edit the payment, click on the View Deposit button, and delete the deposit. Then you can go ahead and delete the lease payment. Also be aware that if there are any ePays on the lease, you will not be able to delete those or delete the lease.

  4. Now that all the transactions are deleted, click on the blue circle with 3 dots icon in the top right corner and select Delete.

  5. In the Delete Confirmation, click the Delete button.

If you delete all the transactions for this lease, it will successfully be deleted and you are done!

Delete an Inactive Lease

  1. To delete an inactive lease, click Leases on the main menu and then click Inactive Leases.

  2. Find the lease you want to delete and click on it. You can either sort the list by the various columns and filters or use the Search leases search bar.

You need to edit the payment, click on the View Deposit button, and delete the deposit to delete the lease payment. Also note that if there are any ePays on the lease, you will not be able to delete those or delete the lease.

  4. Now that all the transactions are deleted, click on the blue circle with 3 dots icon in the top right corner and select Delete.

  5. In the Delete Confirmation, click the Delete button.

If you delete all the transactions for this lease, it will successfully be deleted and you are done!

Delete the Bank Account Deposit

This step is necessary if the payment you are trying to edit or delete is already deposited into your bank account.

  1. If you are already on the Receive Payment window from the above section and need to edit the payment amount or delete the payment, first click the View Deposit button.

  2. There are two ways to delete the deposit here:

    • If the Deposit for the payment is part of a group or payments bundled in one deposit, just Uncheck the box next to that Payment and click Save.

    • If the Deposit for the payment only includes one payment, click the Trash Can icon at the bottom left corner to delete the deposit.

  3. You'll know if this worked because the Payment on the lease transactions will now show Undeposited next to the payment.

  4. You can now go back and delete the payment.
