Overview
DoorLoop allows you to post bulk charges to multiple units on a property at once, instead of posting them one at a time to each unit. For example, you might want to add a parking fee to all your units. Applying bulk charges saves you a lot of time compared to posting them individually.
Note: Bulk Charges are not available to Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.
The Steps
To post bulk charges on multiple leases, click the Create New at the top of the main menu. Then under the Transactions section, click Post Charge.
On the Post Charge window, click on Switch to Bulk Post Charges to create bulk charges.
Next, select which properties you want to post bulk charges for. Click on the first property you want to post Bulk Charges to.
On the Bulk Post Charges window, enter the required information:
Account: Choose the account for the charge
Due Date: Change the due date for the charge if needed
Then, use the checkbox next to each unit you want to apply bulk charges to. You will only be able to select units that have active leases on them.
Choose the Common Charge Allocation you'll be using. (This can be used to select any Custom Allocations you may have made for CAM charges.) Choose to allocate the charges manually, evenly per unit, or by the size of the units.
Allocate Manually: You will need to enter the amounts manually for each unit.
Allocate Evenly: Evenly distributes the Total Charge amount between all units.
Allocate by Size: Distributes the Total Charge amount between all units based on size.
If you choose the Allocate Evenly or Allocate by Size option, enter a Total Charge amount and choose a Rounding type (nearest hundredth, nearest tenth, or nearest whole number). Then click Allocate. This distributes the Total Charge to each of the units you chose based on the parameters you set.
Click Save to finish.
If you need to post more bulk charges, repeat the steps above.
Tip: You can only create bulk charges for multiple units if they're on the same property. If you have to make charges on other units, you'll need to repeat the steps above for each property.
Note: Double-check all your bulk charges before clicking Save. Make sure the amounts are correct and that all the information you need is filled in. Once saved, you cannot go back and bulk edit the charges that were created — you would need to edit them one by one if mistakes were made.
