Overview
Once you create a Unit, you still can edit those units if you need to change or add information to them. This is especially necessary if you're trying to list a unit online and need to add photos or edit descriptions. The process is very simple and we'll show you how to do it below.
The Steps
There are several ways to get to your Units, but we'll show one way here. Of course, feel free to use any method that is most comfortable for you.
To edit a specific unit's information, click Rentals > Units on the main menu.
Find and click on the Unit you want to edit.
Once on the unit's Overview page, click the Blue button at the top right corner and select Edit on the pop-up menu.
On the Edit Unit window, you can edit the following information:
General Information
Unit Name
Market Rent - estimated rent in the area
Size - square footage of the rental space
Beds - number of bedrooms
Baths - number of bathrooms (for half baths, round up to the following whole number)
Description - describe the inside of the unit
(Commercial units have no need for Beds/Baths, so those are excluded. If your commercial units do need to track Beds/Baths, choose the Other commercial property sub-type.)
If this unit's address is different from the property address, toggle off the setting for "Unit address is the same." This will bring up more options to enter an address other than the property address. (This is useful for units that have a different mailing address than that of the property address.)
(Optional) Other settings include the following:
Photos - Here is where you can upload photos and rearrange them
Amenities - Click the checkboxes of all the amenities included in the unit
Rental Applications - Decide whether or not you want this unit to appear on rental applications
Click Save to finish.
That's all there is to edit the Unit information.
Tip: If you plan on listing this unit or even having it available in your rental applications, you should fill out all the required fields. To create an online listing for this unit, refer to the article: Creating Online Listings for Your Units.
