Overview
You can delete units in DoorLoop, although if there have been leases on them and transactions, we don't normally suggest deleting them. Instead, we suggest making those units inactive to preserve any previous records. If you do need to delete a unit, follow the steps below.
Note: Anything you delete can not be recovered.
The Steps
Delete a Unit That Has Never Had a Lease on It
This is the simplest case — no leases or financial transactions means there's nothing to clear first. There are several ways to get to your unit, but here's the most direct path.
To delete a unit, click Rentals on the main menu and then click Properties.
Find the Property that has the Unit you want to delete and click on it.
Click the Units tab to view all the units on the property.
On the Unit you want to delete, click the 3 dots on the right side and click Delete.
Your unit is now deleted.
Delete a Unit That Has Leases or Financial Transactions
If the unit has any leases or transactions, you'll need to clear those first before it can be deleted. However, note that ePay transactions cannot be deleted, which means the associated lease also cannot be deleted — and therefore the unit cannot be deleted either if this is the case.
Delete any financial transactions and end or delete the associated leases. See Delete a Lease for instructions.
Once all leases and transactions are cleared, follow the steps above to delete the unit.
Tip: We suggest that you make the unit inactive instead of deleting the unit unless this was a test unit or you created it by accident.
