Overview

Owners now have access to a true Owner Portal where they'll be able to see an Overview of their properties, the financial transactions associated with them, reports, and the ability to send requests to the property manager. All of this without having to rely on User Roles.

Note: The Owner Portal is not available to Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.

The Steps

Adding an Owner and Inviting them to the Owner Portal

The first step to giving an Owner access to their Owner Portal is to first add them in DoorLoop as an Owner and then at the same time, invite them to their Owner Portal.

  1. The first step to adding an Owner is to click People on the main menu, then click Owners.

  2. On the Owners page, click + New Owner at the top right corner.

  3. In the Edit Owner creation menu, enter the owner's information. Enter their First Name, Last Name, and if you choose to do so, you can also enter a Company name for them.

  4. Since we will be inviting the Owner to their Owner Portal, we'll need to fill in some extra information. Under Portal Login Info, you will need to add their Primary Email and/or a Mobile Phone number. An email address will be required however for them to log into their Owner Portal.

  5. Then you want to toggle on the setting that reads, "Invite this owner to the Owner Portal."

  6. Click Save to finish.

Once this is completed, the Owner will need to check their inbox for the Owner Portal invite and click the link to set up their password for the portal.

Owner Portal Invitation

For your reference, the email that the Owner will receive will have the subject: Your Owner Portal is Ready. When they open the email, it will look something like this:

They'll need to click the Accept Invitation button. From there they'll need to create a new password. Once done they'll have access to their Owner Portal.

Things to Consider

  • If the owner was previously set up as a User, you might want to consider deactivating their user account. You can do so by following these instructions: Removing an Owner/User From Your Account

  • Owners can have the Owner Portal and also a User account if you allow for it. If they use the same email address to log in, they'll be able to choose if they want to log into the Owner Portal or to the User account.

  • Owners will only see the information of the property that they are attached to. If they own more than one property, be sure to add them as an owner of the property.
