Overview
You can post an update to a tenant request — a message plus any field changes — which is logged in the Activity Feed and lets you choose whether to notify the tenant. To change a request's details without posting a message, see Edit the Details of a Tenant Request instead.
The Steps
To update a tenant request (maintenance request), click Tasks & Maintenance> All Tasks on the main menu.
On the All Tasks page, find and click on the tenant request you want to update.
On the tenant request overview page, click the Post an Update button.
The Post an Update window will appear. You can enter an update under the Message section as well as updates to the Due Date, Status, etc. It's suggested to click Email Tenant(s) so that the tenant knows an update has been made to their original request.
Note that adding a due date here or updating the due date will change the due date of the tenant request overall.
Click Save to finish.
Any updates you make will appear on the Activity Feed on the Overview page.
Note: If you use the Complete Task button to finish the request, your tenant does not get an email notification that the task has been completed. First, make sure you Post An Update with Notify Tenant(s) checked to let your tenant know their request has been completed.
Whether shared with the tenant or kept internal, every update is saved to the request's Activity Feed for future reference.
Tip: Tenants can send a reply back within a maintenance request from the Activity Feed on the request itself. They need to go into the Requests section, click on the maintenance request, and then go o the activity feed. Enter a message on the "Write a comment" filed and click Send. Their message when then appear on the Activity Feed.
