Overview

Need to update a maintenance request? You’re in control. Choose whether to notify the tenant or keep the update internal—either way, everything’s tracked in the Activity Feed, so you stay organized and tenants stay informed (when it matters).

The Steps

  1. To update a tenant request (maintenance request), click Tasks & Maintenance on the main menu and then click Tenant Requests.

  2. On the Tenant Requests page, find and click on the tenant request you want to update.

  3. On the request overview page, click the Post an Update button.

  4. The Post an Update window will appear. You can enter an update under the Message section as well as updates to the Due Date, Status, etc. It's suggested to click Notify Tenant so that the tenant knows an update has been made to their original request. (Note that adding a due date here or updating the due date will change the due date of the tenant request overall.)

  5. Click Save to finish.

  6. Any updates you make will appear on the Activity Feed on the Overview page.

Note: If you use the Complete Task button to finish the request, your tenant does not get an email notification that the task has been completed. First, make sure you Post An Update with Notify Tenant(s) checked to let your tenant know their request has been completed.

Requests on the Tenant Portal look like this:

Every update, whether shared or internal, helps you stay on top of requests and keep communication smooth, all in one place.
