Overview
Once your bank account is connected to Plaid, your imported bank transactions need to be reviewed. This article covers the three things you can do with them:
Match an imported transaction to a transaction you've already recorded in DoorLoop.
Create a new transaction in DoorLoop if one doesn't already exist for it (an expense, transfer, deposit, or lease payment).
Exclude a transaction you don't want to account for in DoorLoop, such as a duplicate.
Keep in mind that importing transaction data via Plaid isn't a replacement for actual reconciliation, which is the true method for ensuring your accounting is correct.
Note: Importing transactions with Plaid is not available to Starter Plans. Consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium Plans to access this feature.

The Steps
To match your transactions in Plaid using Bank Transactions, click on Accounting > Transactions on the main menu.
On the Transactions page, click the Bank Transactions tab, then select the bank you want to import and match transactions from.
For the transactions imported from your bank account, you have two courses of action:
Confirm - Click the Confirm button for any auto-matched transactions, as long as they were matched correctly. If the transaction didn't auto-match correctly, click the line for the transaction (anywhere to the left of the status) to review it further.
Review - Click the Review button for other transactions so you can either match to an existing transaction (single or multiple) in DoorLoop, or create a new transaction in DoorLoop.
If you're reviewing transactions that haven't been matched automatically, use the "Match to an Existing Transaction" option to find the transaction in DoorLoop that matches your imported transaction. This is only if you know you've recorded the transaction in DoorLoop before.
If the transaction has not been entered in DoorLoop, do the following:
(Scenario 1) Negative transactions give you the option to Record as New Expense or Record as New Transfer. Use this if there's no existing transaction in DoorLoop that matches this line in your bank statement.
Expenses: choose the Payee (optional), expense Category, Property, and an optional Description or Memo. Payees not yet created in DoorLoop need to be added via the Create New button in the upper left corner.
Transfers: choose the Account the transfer was made to and the Property it was for. Add an optional Description or Memo.
(Scenario 2) Positive transactions give you the options to Record as New Deposit, Record as New Transfer, or Record as Lease Payment.
Record as New Deposit: choose the Property and Unit (optional) associated with the deposit, the Category, a Description (optional), the Amount, the Payment method (optional), Reference (optional), and who it was Received from (optional). Do not use "Record as New Deposit" for Lease Transactions. If you do, it won't record on the lease — and when you go to record it on the lease afterward, this creates a duplicate deposit.
Record as New Transfer: choose the Account the transfer was made to and the Property it was for.
Record as New Lease Payment: select the Lease the payment is associated with, who it was Received From, and the Payment Method. You can also attach any relevant files.
Transactions you don't want to account for in DoorLoop can be excluded by clicking Exclude. This includes any duplicates you see. See Exclude Transactions from Bank Transactions for more information.
Matched or excluded transactions disappear from the Pending list. You can review them again by changing the Filter By: status to Categorized or Excluded. Matched transactions also get a "C" under the Cleared column on the account register report for this bank account.
Tip: If you see a transaction that looks similar to "AC- DoorLoop DoorLoop COMPANY NAME LLC," this is most likely a charge to your DoorLoop subscription. You can find the invoice for this under Settings > Subscription and Billing, then click Invoice History in the top right corner.
Note: It may take some time for your real-world transactions to update and show in DoorLoop — normally up to 24 hours, depending on your financial institution and account type.
Troubleshooting - Correcting Problems
Correcting Mistakes
If you matched a transaction incorrectly, see Undo Categorized Transactions under Bank Transactions to undo it so you can re-match or exclude it.
If you didn't select all the bank accounts available for an existing bank login when you first connected, it's not too late to add them later. Find a bank account you've already connected using this login, click the 3-dots on the right side of the bank account line, and choose Repair Connection. This lets you log in again via Plaid to connect more bank accounts.
If there are transactions on your bank statement you don't want categorized in DoorLoop, click Exclude while reviewing the transaction to remove it from the Bank Transactions page without entering it in DoorLoop.
You can change the opening balance date for a bank account to pull in more or fewer transactions. After changing the Opening Balance date, use Repair Connection to log in via Plaid and connect again.
If you created a deposit from the Bank Transactions page for a lease payment without labeling it as such, this won't put the payment on the tenant's lease. To correct this, delete this incorrect deposit and instead create the payment on a lease and record the bank deposit from that payment. This deposit in DoorLoop will then match the deposit in your bank account.
Issues Connecting to Your Bank
