Overview
A Budget vs Actual report is essential in assessing financial performance properties, identifying any deviations from the planned budget, and understanding the reasons behind these discrepancies.
Note: The Budgeting feature is not available for Starter Plans. Please consider upgrading to the Pro or Premium plans to use this feature.
The Steps
There are 2 methods to run a Budget vs Actual report in DoorLoop.
Method 1: From the Budgeting screen
From the Budgeting screen, find the budget you want to duplicate and click the 3 dots menu to the right of the budget.
Click Run Budget vs Actual Report.
This will generate a Budget vs Actual Report using the selected budget.
The default dates of the Budget vs Actual report will be January 1st of the current year until the current date, the day you are running the report.
The default Accounting Method will be Cash so make sure to change your selection if your preferred method is Accrual.
Note: After adjusting the parameters for the report you must click the Run Report button to re-run the report with the new parameters.
You can export the report to Excel format or print out the report using the 2 icons on the top right corner of the report.
Method 2: From the Reports screen
From the Reports screen, scroll down to the Accounting section and click Budget vs Actual.
Pro tip: You can also just use the search at the top of the page to or DoorLoop's global search to find the report.
You can use the Budgeted By and Property (or Portfolio depending on your selection in the Budgeted By field) fields to narrow down your list of Budgets to choose from.
(These fields are optional and do not need to be filled in order to proceed).Use the Budget field to select the budget you'd like to run your report against.
Select the From and To dates for which you'd like to run the report.
Select the Accounting Method you'd like to use in your report (Cash is selected by default).
Click the Run Report button to run your Budget vs Actual report.
Budget vs Actual Report Filters
When running the Budget vs Actual Report, you may notice that there could be some data that looks like it is missing. This is because of the filters.
Click the Filter button on the budget vs actual report.
Then under the Account Class, click the X next to Revenue. This will clear the filter so everything shows on the report. You can also choose to show All Rows instead of Non Zero. Click Close to remove the filter pane.
The last step is to click Run Report to refresh the report with the new filters.
