Below are frequently asked questions in relation to management fees.
Management Fees Questions
Can I create a management fee bill first, and then pay the bill later?
Management Fees are created as bills and In DoorLoop, vendor bills are a two-step process. That means you can wait to pay a bill if you want. For example, you create your management fee bill to show that you, the vendor, are owed money. When you actually collect the money, you record the bill payment to show it has been paid.
What are management fee payout categories?
The management fee payout category is where you would set any revenue that is collected which would not go to the owner and is collected with your management fee bills. For example, if you keep 100% of late fees, rental application fees, or cleaning fees, you would add them to your management payout categories.

Where can I see if my management fees are set up on a property?
You can view which properties have management fees set up by going to the Management Fees Settings Report located at Reports > Management Fees Settings Report. You can also choose to check each property individually.
How do I automatically keep the revenue I collect as a property manager?
The revenue you collect on a lease can be kept for certain account categories as long as you add them to the management fees payout categories. How do I get Late Fees to go towards my management fees and not have it go to the owner when creating owner distributions?
If you want to keep late fees as part of your management fees, you need to add the Late Fees category as part of your Payout Categories. Do so by going to Settings > Management Fees and adding the Late Fees category under Set Up Payout Categories.
