CashPayments Questions
How does DoorLoop CashPayments work?
DoorLoop CashPayments is powered by Western Union. Tenants can make cash payments by going directly to any Western Union location with QuickCollect kiosks, following the instructions on their CashPayments Slip, and paying cash directly to you.
Are CashPayments account numbers the same for everyone?
No, account numbers for CashPayments are not the same for each tenant. Each lease will have a unique account number for CashPayments
How long will it take for CashPayments to go through?
CashPayments normally take about 2 business days to reach your bank account.
Are CashPayments available in Canada?
DoorLoop CashPayments are currently not available in Canada.
Can tenants make CashPayments through the Western Union website?
While tenants can look up Western Union locations they can go to make cash payments, they can not do so via the Western Union website.
Is there a fee for CashPayments?
There is no fee for property managers, but tenants will need to pay $3.95 per transaction.
Is there a limit to how much a tenant can pay with CashPayments?
There is a $5000 limit per CashPayment. If a tenant's rent is more than $5000, you will need to enable partial payments on the lease so that the tenant can split their payment in to separate cash payments.
Where can my tenant find the CashPayments Slip?
Tenants can find their CashPayments Slip on their tenant portal home page. By clicking the CashPayments Slip button, a popup will appear where they can download the CashPayments Slip as well as look up locations of where they can make their payments.
What locations accept CashPayments?
CashPayments are accepted at many locations nationwide that that accept Western Union through Quick Collect kiosks. To find a location closest to you, visit https://www.westernunion.com/global-services/find-locations. These locations must have a Western Union Quick Collect kiosk where the tenant can make their payment.
How can my tenants confirm that a location accepts CashPayments with Western Union?
Tenants can look up Western Union locations from their tenant portal by clicking the CashPayments Slip button. This will generate a CashPayments Slip for them with a link they can click on to find the nearest Western Union location.
It is recommended that they call the phone number listed for each store to double-check that they have the Western Union Quick Collect kiosks at their location. This is the only way they can make their cash payments for their rent.
Why is the CashPayments Slip missing the account number?
If your tenant's CashPayments Slip is missing the account number, it could mean several things:
It could mean you don't have a valid merchant account set up. Please set up a merchant account before using the CashPayments feature.
If you do have a merchant account set up, make sure the bank is attached to is set as the default bank for the property.
If a merchant account and the bank is set up on the property, and you still don't see a cashpayments account number, try refreshing the page several times. This could just be an issue with syncing the account number.
Can a tenant still make a cash payment after their lease expires or ends?
No. Once a lease expires or ends, the tenant's unique account number becomes inactive for CashPayments. To enable CashPayments again, you can extend the lease terms so that the lease is no longer expired, or set up a new lease for the tenant.
Can a tenant make cash payments if they don't have an active tenant portal?
As long as the tenant's lease is still active, they can make cash payments. You can find their CashPayments details by following the instructions here.
Can a tenant use a check to pay Western Union for a cash payment?
No. Tenants can not use a check to pay Western Union for a cash payment. They must use cash.
Is there a limit to how much a tenant can pay with CashPayments?
There is a $5000 limit per transaction for CashPayments based on Western Union regulations. For any amount over this, the tenant will need to split the payment. You will need to enable partial payments so that the tenant can pay their full rent amount in separate payments.
