Overview

A tenant's email address is required when enabling Tenant Portal access. Inviting your tenants to the tenant portal in DoorLoop automatically sends them an email invite, which they use to set up a password.

After setting up a password, your tenants can use links in rent reminder and tenant communication emails to log in to their portal, or go to DoorLoop.com/login and log in with their email address and the password.

Make sure to configure your tenant portal settings before inviting your tenants to their portals!

The Steps

Step 1

Navigate to People > Tenants and find the tenant with an active lease that you want to invite to your tenant portal.

Step 2

Click on the 3 Vertical Dots icon on the right side of the tenant line and click Edit.

Note that you can also click on the tenant to open the Overview tab, then navigate to the 3 Vertical Dots on the top right hand side and click Edit.

Step 3

Toggle on Allow this tenant to access the Tenant Portal by clicking on the toggle.

Step 4

Once you click the toggle, enter the tenant's email address and click Save.

Step 5

That's it! The invitation email will automatically be sent to your tenant. You can track the status of this invite email by going to Communications > Communications Log.

FAQ

How do I invite multiple tenants at once?

  • If you have already entered in email addresses for your tenants and you waited to invite them to the tenant portal, you can invite all or some of your tenants in one bulk action.

    Step 1

    From People > Tenants, you click the boxes to the left of your tenants name to select multiple tenants at once, or click the box at the top of the column to select all of your tenants.

    Step 2

    After selecting at least one tenant, an Activate Portal link will appear at the top of the column. Click on that and confirm that you want to activate the tenant portal for these tenants. If there is an email address entered for the tenants, they will receive a portal invite. Otherwise, nothing will be sent because there is no email address.


How do I re-invite tenants to the tenant portal?

  • If your tenant tells you they no longer have their tenant portal invite email, you can re-invite them to send a new tenant portal invite email.

    Step 1

    Navigate to People > Tenants and find the tenant with an active lease that you want to invite to your tenant portal.

    Step 2

    Click on the 3 Vertical Dots icon on the right side of the tenant line and click Edit.

    Step 3

    At the bottom in the Sent At section, click the link to Resend Invitation.

    That's it! Note that the new invitation has already been sent. You only need to click Save if you made other changes. If you didn't make any changes, you can click Cancel or press the escape key to exit.
