Overview
The Communications Center is a premium messaging platform built within DoorLoop to provide Property Managers with a simple way of communicating between you and your tenants, owners, vendors, and prospects. This negates the need to use external channels to communicate and keeps everything in a centralized location within DoorLoop. This includes features like Announcements, SMS Messaging, and Notifications.
Why would you use the DoorLoop Communications Center over other solutions?
Timely Issue Resolution: The Communication Center solves the problem where you can’t address and resolve maintenance issues promptly. You will be able to follow up with your tenants, owners, vendors, and owners more quickly without having to leave DoorLoop.
Record Keeping & Transparency: The Communications Center will save all back-and-forth messages for your records. All previous messages, discussions, and agreements they made with their tenants, owners, vendors, and prospects are saved to help reduce disputes and provide a history of past issues.
Fragmented communication. No longer will you need to hunt down messages and communications scattered amongst different sources. All communications are now saved in a single, searchable, neatly organized location.
Who can use the Communications Center?
While the communications center is available for all customers to access, the ability to set up and send SMS messages requires a valid Merchant Account, set up with a registered US-based business. That means that when you set up your Merchant Account, you have needed to provide an employer identification number (EIN). This can be found in your Letter 147C. If you do not have a valid Tax ID#/EIN, you can apply for one here.

Things to Consider
SMS Messaging
SMS Messaging will only be available in the US and Canada.
SMS Messaging is a premium service add-on and is not included as part of your DoorLoop subscription plan. You will need to set up your Communications Center and request an SMS number.
Only one SMS number per DoorLoop account. You will be assigned a number to use based on the area code you select.
You can not port over an existing number.
Activating your SMS number includes the first bundle of messaging credits for free. (Credits will be purchased after these are used up.)
A $10 fee will be charged for each additional bundle of credits after.
Starter Plan - 150 Credits
Pro Plan - 750 Credits
Premium Plan - 1000 Credits
You can choose to have this automatically replenished each time you run out or not.
Outbound SMS = 1 credit, Inbound SMS = Free
Outbound MMS = 5 credits, Inbound MMS = 5 Credits
Phone number activation can take up to 3 days. You will receive a notification when your number is ready to use.
You must have a valid registered business and EIN number to use the Communications Center.
Announcements
1 announcement credit = $0.02
You will start with 10 free credits per unit per month on your subscription plan (resets each month). For instance, if you have 10 active units, that means you'll start with 100 announcement credits at the beginning of each month.
If you run out of announcement credits during the month, you'll pay $10 for 500 more each time until it resets again the following month.
Additional credits you add do not carry over into the next month and will reset to the original amount.
