Overview
If you turn on requesting TransUnion Reports in your rental application settings and an applicant submits your rental application, you can view and save those reports when reviewing the submitted rental application.
After requesting the report, the SmartMove reports expire after 30 days. If you want to save these reports for longer than 30 days, you will need to download and save them.
Note: This article assumes that reports have already been requested from TransUnion when reviewing the rental application.
The Steps
To download a TransUnion SmartMove report from a specific rental application, click Leasing > Rental Applications on the main menu.
Find and click on the prospect whose rental application you want to download a TransUnion report for.
Once on the prospect's page, click View Reports from the Overview page.
This takes you to the Reports tab. Reports include a Criminal Report, Credit Report, and Eviction Related Proceedings report — see View Requested Screening Reports from TransUnion for details on what each one contains.
Click on each report to review it. To save the reports, you download a PDF by clicking on the PDF button in the upper right corner of the report.
After downloading PDFs of the reports, upload them to the Files tab of the Rental Application or the Prospect for easy data management.
Please keep in mind that while screening reports have their own timeline, Rental Application requests expire 30 days after they are sent. If an applicant doesn't complete the form within this window, you will need to issue a new request through DoorLoop to collect their information again.
Note: If you end up renting to this Prospect, when you create a lease and add this Prospect to that lease, they become a Tenant and these report files will stay with them.
When your tenants fill out the rental application, they agree to the Applicant Terms of Service set by DoorLoop and its third parties. For more information about what is in the Applicant Terms of Service, the terms of the agreement can be found here.
